New LinkedIn Lunchtime Mastermind Group Launched

April 21, 2010 by Doug Mitchell · Leave a Comment

Today we added a new Lunchtime Mastermind LinkedIn Group to further extend the conversation and value around our weekly Lunchtime Mastermind webcasts and live QA sessions. We encourage you to join in the conversation and become a better Interactive Marketing – online business building – conversion machine.  The LTMM group profile reads as follows

The Lunchtime Mastermind Group was created as a way to extend the learning and promote execution of the Internet Marketing and business building principles that Andy Brudtkuhl and Doug Mitchell highlight on their free Internet Business Podcast ManagingtheEdge.com. Our approach with technology and Internet Marketing is realistic and comes from the “How can a normal business person use this technique or technology today to make more money and is it worth the effort?” approach. This is not a “How to get rich using the Internet” group. Lunchtime Mastermind is all about the practical application of seo, keyword research, blogging, multimedia, social media, and myriad other online tools to convert lookers to buyers…whatever that means to your business. Remember A.B.C. – Always Be Converting. (and let’s have fun too while we’re doing it). Please join us and let’s learn together. Our weekly slot for doing live webinars is 12p-1p central.

I’m certain you’ll learn something new with every single interaction you have with the Lunchtime Mastermind Group.  See you inside!

Managing the Edge Internet Business Podcast

February 16, 2009 by Doug Mitchell · 1 Comment

Over the last 6 weeks, I’ve had the great pleasure of recording and streaming a powerful new internet business podcast called, Managing the Edge. Managing the Edge is a collaboration between me (Doug Mitchell) and Andy Brudtkuhl (Brood-Cool) of 48 Web.

The show’s tag line really says it all in that,

“We’d like to help you become more findable and engaging on the web.”

Simple. Effective.  Straightforward.

Andy and I discuss web strategy, software platforms, analytics, search engine optimization (SEO), content generation and distribution, and a ton of other great web topics.  But here’s what you MUST know.  The Managing the Edge Internet Business Podcast does NOT forget the word BUSINESS!  We always bring technology back to the realm of “Why should I care as a real business person with real issues?” Technology is great but who cares if no one is buying, reading, consuming your product right?

Our recent episodes are all about getting “Back to Business” where we reconnect some of the more in depth tech talk with real business people.  In fact, in our upcoming episode that will hit later today, we had on a guest who has exploded his business online by building community around his content.  Pretty cool stuff?

I’d encourage you to visit Managing the Edge and subscribe using the iTunes link.  Listen to as many past episodes as you can and just see what we’ve got cooking.

It’s been a pretty amazing week around the create WOW media studio at Impromptu Studio

January 30, 2009 by Doug Mitchell · Leave a Comment

Doug Mitchell in the createWOWmedia studio

Our team, fearlessly made to look superlative by Media Maestro Paul “I love live radio” Gratton, has transitioned from assisting in the recording/streaming of the podcast I do weekly with Andy Brudtkuhl of 48Web……to doing a live streaming show with up to 5 guests.

Did I mention that show is Macs World Live and it’s done DAILY from 2-4PM Central Time. Yes. Impromptu Studio where we’ve carved out our little piece of audio and video studio heaven is now teaming with additional life.  It’s kind of like we chummed the water and a school of hungry entrepreneurs and innovators caught the scent and are now voraciously devouring the red meat.

Ready to expand Captain Dan?

We’re also working on a weekly Iowa based business show that will take “radio” to a level you’ve never seen.  The show will stream live each week and will have new elements of follow up and extension that are going to have an measurable impact on businesses in the Des Moines metro.  I can see this show concept being picked up in every market around the United States where entrepreneurs, online marketing and media folks, and business experts collide with a BIG BANG that drives success.

Client launch: Fredsolomon.net

January 17, 2009 by Doug Mitchell · 3 Comments

banner-graphic2The create WOW team is proud to release www.fredsolomon.net.  This site is a wonderful example of what you can do with a membership site.  We’ve leveraged video heavily in this Interactive Learning Environment.  Fred had a wonderful 3 hour workshop that he puts on video taped for us.

The next step was to release the video editing wizard Paul Gratton on the project to chop up that 3 hour seminar into 30 manageable chunks for use online. We’ve also taken some recorded audio calls done in our podcast recording studio and created some training calls for Fred’s online subscribers.

Additionally, we’ve integrated video chat into the site in protected page so Fred can connect daily with his clients and partners around the USA.

You’ll probably also notice the “walk on” video that we’ve done here.  Walk on videos pack quite a punch.  I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty intrigued when I see an owner walk onto a screen and deliver a great marketing message to me.  We’re very pleased with the results on this video.  Fred flew into Des Moines for a day (quite a change from Newport Beach, CA huh?) to shoot this piece.  If you live in Des Moines of course…no flight necessary.

Fred Solomon is taking his incredible message, products, and talents online by leveraging the  create WOW media membership software platform.  Our platform is getting more refined every day and our deployment times are coming way down too.

Please take a look at www.FredSolomon.net and let us know what you think.  You may also want to sign up for Fred’s Free 15 day trial as well.  Now the blogging and marketing of the site will really pick up speed.  I can’t wait to share the results with you down the road.

Podcast with Daniel Shipton of Impromptu Studio

Here at create WOW media, we’re proud to have just moved into the shiny new studio at Impromptu Studio on SW 5th St. in Des Moines.   The studio is taking shape and we now are fully operational in the audio booth with capacity for up to 5 simultaneous people.  That means YOU can conduct your own company podcasts, you can interview clients for audio testimonials, or conduct multi-voice voice overs for presentations, etc.  Additionally, we’ve perfected the art of recording calls via skype.  You don’t need to know about the technology.  Just think about having a client call a phone number, and you end up with a studio quality conversation produced into a high powered testimonial for your products/services.  Photos and live streaming coming very shortly!

We invite you to email us or call us and come by for a quick tour.   We appreciate your continued support and would like to again thank Daniel Shipton @ImpromptuStudio for his support and assistance.

Take a listen to a quick chat we had this morning about the studio and what it means to the Des Moines business community and beyond.

Inaugural episode of new weekly podcast – “Managing the Edge” is now live

January 12, 2009 by Doug Mitchell · 1 Comment

I’m blessed to have an amazing sphere of friends and talent orbiting the create WOW media mothership. One such uber dude is Andy Brudtkuhl (that’s BROOD-COOL). You won’t hear him correct me on that during the podcast…due to the magic of editing software!  Look at how that name is spelled for goodness sake.  Huh???

Andy runs 48Web, a Web Strategy consultancy in town. Among the zillions of things Andy does, one is to lay out excellent-tangible-actionable web strategy plans.  Andy’s services are very complimentary to createWOWmedia’s and we often collaborate heavily on projects.

createWOWmedia focuses on deploying infrastructure, coaching the reasons why we need to organically grow our findability, and amplifying online brands through rich multimedia (walk on video + green screen video + podcasts + custom music).  While 48Web lays out what we need to do each week to be successful, what technologies need to be deployed, and how much time we can expect to devote to each per week. (SEO + analytics + budgeting + hosting) etc.

Bottom line, this Podcast called Managing the Edge will be a weekly MEGA value informational powerhouse for the premium price of ZERO bucks.

I’d recommend subscribing to the Managing the Edge Podcast Feed so you’re in the know.  As always, your comments, feedback, suggestions, and mojo are welcome.  I’ve embedded the podcast below but please, subscribe to the Podcast feed to ensure delivery every time.

Thanks for listening.

Doug Mitchell on the “Solomon Free Money Hour” radio show

December 16, 2008 by Doug Mitchell · Leave a Comment

I did an interview with Fred Solomon of the Solomon Free Money radio show on Angels AM 830 this past Sunday.  Fred’s show is a big hit because he shoots from the hip and speaks from the heart.  He genuinely wants to help people…and his word of mouth/loyalty business shows it.

We’ve just done a completely interactive membership site for him that we’re working on as we speak.  It’s over at FredSolomon.net and we’re pretty proud of some of the things we’ve got going over there including Fred’s “walk on” video, live video chat so he can assist his net branches, and a forum to share ideas and challenges on the Loan Modification Business Opportunity.

I’ve put the live interview on the air down below as a brief podcast.  Take a listen and let us know what you think.

Here’s the final piece of my interview with Adam Steen of 25 Connections.  We are already planning our next podcast and he’s probably going to leverage the create WOW media podcast studios to do his recording.    I can’t wait to listen and interact with his guests.

Take listen.

November 4, 2008 by Doug Mitchell · 1 Comment

We just completed a great podcast with Adam Steen from 25 Connections inside the createWOWmedia studios.  Since we know you’re busy, we’re going to release the podcast in digestible chunks for you over the next week or two.

Take a few moments and get to know Adam Steen and listen to him describe the power of networking…especially in our questionable economy.
