Client launch: Fredsolomon.net
January 17, 2009 by Doug Mitchell · 3 Comments
The create WOW team is proud to release www.fredsolomon.net. This site is a wonderful example of what you can do with a membership site. We’ve leveraged video heavily in this Interactive Learning Environment. Fred had a wonderful 3 hour workshop that he puts on video taped for us.
The next step was to release the video editing wizard Paul Gratton on the project to chop up that 3 hour seminar into 30 manageable chunks for use online. We’ve also taken some recorded audio calls done in our podcast recording studio and created some training calls for Fred’s online subscribers.
Additionally, we’ve integrated video chat into the site in protected page so Fred can connect daily with his clients and partners around the USA.
You’ll probably also notice the “walk on” video that we’ve done here. Walk on videos pack quite a punch. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty intrigued when I see an owner walk onto a screen and deliver a great marketing message to me. We’re very pleased with the results on this video. Fred flew into Des Moines for a day (quite a change from Newport Beach, CA huh?) to shoot this piece. If you live in Des Moines of course…no flight necessary.
Fred Solomon is taking his incredible message, products, and talents online by leveraging the create WOW media membership software platform. Our platform is getting more refined every day and our deployment times are coming way down too.
Please take a look at www.FredSolomon.net and let us know what you think. You may also want to sign up for Fred’s Free 15 day trial as well. Now the blogging and marketing of the site will really pick up speed. I can’t wait to share the results with you down the road.
Maximizing email newsletter subscribers with aweber.com

So if you’ve visited us for the first time, you probably were confronted within 5 seconds with an “email subscribe” box and a grayed out site. This is a nifty feature in the email marketing system from aweber. (we are an affiliate and this is an affiliate link because we believe strongly in this product and recommend it heavily). Some people probably find this “insta-pop” annoying. We understand. We’re assuming that you have limited time so we’re giving you a quick out, in exchange for permission to market to you. Straight forward we think.
The proof is in the pudding. Email subscriptions up 500%. We hope you’ll subscribe too. There’s a box down by the comments of this post if you’d care to join our little small and medium sized business online branding revolution.
Leveraging an email marketing system is a MUST if you’re planning to amplify your brand. Aweber goes a long way to helping companies do this in a non-technical/non-threatening way.
Is an overloaded email inbox any worse than an overloaded social media stream?
October 9, 2008 by Doug Mitchell · Leave a Comment
Sometimes I wonder if the concept of moving “away from the email inbox” as a organizational and informational repository is a good idea. What happens when we really shift gears towards a larger social media stream to execute our communications and community building?
In many cases, we build a very large and bloated social media infrastructure that resides in many different places. Each place requires updating and servicing. Like many of you out there, I have blogs on Typepad…and Wordpress now. I am subscribed to about 235 RSS feeds and leverage CentralDesktop to manage projects, store documents, and keep track of tasks/milestones for specific projects. The list goes on.
I use ONE email program to manage the email stream. I use about 15 different social media applications/services to manage the social media torrent.
I’m not complaining and we are out there daily coaching clients and potential clients to take advantage of what social media has to offer. But we advise being careful and selective about what one takes on in the socialmediasphere because it can lead to overload well beyond “Maxed out inbox syndrome.”
